Snowdon Moonlight Walk Adventures

On our Snowdon Moonlight Walk we climb Wales' highest peak and enjoy it at its most special. An evening ascent is far less busy than the hustle and bustle of daylight hours and can often be done in relative solitude.

Snowdonia National Park was awarded Dark Sky Reserve status in December 2015. This was in recognition of the significant efforts to reduce light pollution and the wonderful dark skies that are now protected.

We aim to reach the summit (via the Llanberis path) at sunset and enjoy the amazing views and spectacular light as the surrounding mountains glow orange. We return in darkness using a combination of moon and torch light to illuminate the way.

We will make regular stops to point out significant stars and constellations.

We should return to Llanberis with enough time to catch last orders at the pub and reflect on a truly memorable experience.

Location:

The Snowdon Moonlight Walks start and finish in Llanberis which is in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales. We recommend staying in Llanberis or the surrounding villages if you are staying before or after the walk.

Duration:

The walk takes on average 7 hours with a total distance of just under 10 miles and 970m of ascent.

Experience Required:

Ideal for beginners with a reasonable level of fitness and walkers who want to experience their first mountain walk at night. Perfect for small groups, couples, friends, individuals, and families.

18+ (unless parent/guardian present then min. approx 8 yrs).
