What is your canyoning day like?

We usually meet near Ffestiniog and then drive on for ten minutes to the start of the canyon. Once changed into canyoning wetsuits etc you will be given a short brief about the session. Next comes a 20 minute walk through magical ancient Celtic rainforest to reach the top of the canyon.

Let the canyoning fun begin! You are presented with clear pool of pure mountain water. Its not deep enough to jump so the safest way in is to keep your body rigid and fall in backwards with a flat body. A good trust fall! If you weren’t awake you will be now!

Next comes the narrows, a tight metre wide slot carved by frequent Snowdonia rainfall. You have just had a bath its now its time for a shower. A small waterfall will lightly pummel your head, the original power shower.

A short wild swim leads to the first fun 5m water slide into a deep pool. After a short walk we then reach the highlight of the canyoning trip. The so called Cresta run. One of Snowdonia’s finest Canyoning features.

A short slide into a plunge pool leads to an amazing 100m slide. Feel the force of the water push you along this amazing natural waterslide. The grand finale is a jaw dropping 10m waterfall. The brave will abseil or zipwire off to land in the deep crystal clear pool below.

You have now conquered one of Snowonia’s finest canyons. A short walk leads back to the vehicles and dry clothes. Get changed, sit back and relax knowing that you have earnt a hearty meal and maybe even cool refreshing beer. A perfect day in Snowdonia.

If you are feeling heroic our extreme canyoning(hyperlink) trip explores further down into the awesome lower canyon.
