Mountain Walking In Snowdonia
Popular peaks:

Snowdon: The highest (3560ft) and possibly the finest mountain peak south of Scotland. Although busy should not be under estimated.

Tryfan: The only peak in Snowdonia where the hands have to be used to reach the summit. A fantastic scramble and easier than it might look.

Moel Siabod: Seen from the north Moel Siabod appears as a grassy sloped mountain. This hides a fine rocky ridge on the southerly side. A great easy introductory scramble.

Cnicht: The so called “ Matterhorn” of Snowdonia. This is because it appears as a classic mountain shape as seen from the village of Croesor.

Carneddau: One of the more remote areas of Snowdonia and even the UK. Over 100 square kms of open mountains rising to almost 3500ft. Less busy than most other areas of the Snowdonia National Park.

Glyders: This range is usually accessed from the Ogwen valley, and offers almost alpine scenery. Most peaks rise above 3000ft, with many easy scrambles to gain their summits.
Mountain Walking
Description: Snowdonia is a mecca for mountain walking. It offers majestic rocky summits to gentler more rounded peaks to sedate and beautiful valley walks.

Snowdonia Winter Walking
Description: Although winter conditions in Snowdonia can be fickle, when it does happen the rewards are worth the wait. The Welsh winter environment does have its own hazards however. Many people are caught out and a simple slip can have serious consequences without the correct equipment and knowledge. Gradient Adventure will show you how to tackle any of Snowdonia's snow clad summits safely. Subjects covered will include:
- Winter equipment.
- Interpreting forecasts.
- Route choice.
- Crampon and ice axe use.
- Winter navigation.
Location: Snowdonia, North Wales.
Duration: 1 day.
Cost: £45 (based on 3). £80 per person for a weekend (based on 3).
Equipment hire: Ice axe and crampon hire is available for small extra cost.
Experience: Summer hill walking desirable.

Scottish Winter Walking
Description: The highlands of Scotland offer a unique challenge to the mountain walker. Some of the most breathtaking and memorable days on the hill can be had in winter.
Winter makes this amazing area change from being a challenge to a serious undertaking that needs special skills to have a safe and enjoyable day.
Gradient adventure runs guided walks on less challenging peaks enabling you to pick up the skills along the way. We will also guide more experienced clients on more challenging peaks that you may lack the confidence to tackle yourself.
